Duracell DPP-600HD Powerpack Plus Review

The Duracell DPP-600HD Powerpack consists of a single DC outlet, 3 pronged AC outlets to power multi loads, sealed nonspillable 28 amp hour AGM battery (must be charged), built in 600 watt and radio am/fm with digital clock.

The Duracell Powerpack is proving to be handy to those who have to work without an electric outlet. It is a good option for those who make use of tools or other accessories in out of the way places. A convenient back up in this situation is the Duracell Powerpack because it is completely portable and easy to transport.

Both Duracell and Xantrex make this product with a combined effort. Both companies have over a 25-year reputation for providing portable back up power units. The Duracell DPP-600HD Powerpack provides more than power because it comes with various emergency and safety features. This product is great because it has the power to start up something as big as a car, or even power all your small appliances without a problem.

When it is time to recharge the battery it can be done from an AC outlet in any household. Or, you can use the cigarette outlet in your car. This battery can supply 600 watts to a single DC socket and three AC outlets that are grounded. Having more than one outlet means you can use several appliances at the same time. It is fitted with an internal circuitry that guarantees long life as it guards against extreme temperatures and overload. If there is overheating or infrequent voltage the user is alerted.

The Powerpack was put to the test over the course of seven days. It was used constantly to power a variety of media systems and even a hair dryer. Additionally it recharged cell phones and the batteries of cameras. This was done often and it was seen that the battery remained powered for almost the entire seven days. The result was, the battery performed in an impressive manner, and as was expected.

Even though the battery performed as it should the power meter was not accurate. The meter indicated ninety percent on the fourth day and seventy percent on the fifth day. The out of power signal only became visible on the sixth day. This was not the only negative as the clock could not be switched off. This may annoy some consumers if they had to save as much power as possible.

It was evident that even though the Powerpack is portable, it is not lightweight. Therefore, carrying it for long distances may not prove easy and it is not advised. For people who are camping in the outdoors and have to leave their cars and walk a fair bit, may have to think twice about taking this battery with them.

The Powerpack was found to have strong and weak features. However, it was found to be a worthy product to buy because it delivered power for a long period before needing to be recharged. For people that consider taking along a laptop to remote locations with no power supply, they will find the positives outweigh the negatives when it comes to the Duracell Powerpack, making it a good alternative source of power when there is none available.
